Start Your Summer Off Right with Mint Hill Yoga

Mint Hill Yoga is now comfortably settled into its expanded space within The Lofts at 7714, the retrofitted mill building located at 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in downtown Mint Hill.  And its extensive class schedule is evidence that the new 685 square foot space is offering more opportunity for yoga practitioners of all ages, sizes and experience levels in Mint Hill.

In June, Mint Hill Yoga’s class schedule has something planned for every day of the week:

Sundays at Mint Hill Yoga: 

  • Slow Flow at 7 pm – start your week off in the right frame of mind.

Mondays at Mint Hill Yoga: 

  • Gentle Fusion at 9:30 am – enjoy a class that combines asanas from the viniyoga and alignment traditions along with large doses of breathwork and meditation.
  • Fusion 1/2 Series at 6 pm
  • Fusion 1/2 Series at 7:30 pm

Tuesdays at Mint Hill Yoga:

  • Beginners’ Yoga at 5:30 pm – all are welcome.

Wednesdays at Mint Hill Yoga:

  • Yoga Over 50 at 9:30 am – This recently renamed class now more accurately describes the incredible energy, laughter and interest in growth of this group.
  • Curvy Yoga at 6:45 pm

Thursdays at Mint Hill Yoga:

Mint Hill Yoga Announces Upcoming, Exciting Workshops and Excursions

Mint Hill Yoga continues to expand its offerings as more and more Mint Hill residents demand additional yoga class times and varieties.  Starting this month, Yoga for Beginners is now available two times a week:

  • 90 minute 5:30 pm Tuesday class with Mint Hill Yoga owner and instructor Bettie Shea that goes from 3/11 through 4/8 – cost is $40 for the five week series
  • 60 minute 9 am Saturday class with instructor Keisha Battles – cost is $35 for 5 consecutive Saturdays

The studio is also planning two yoga workshops for April at a cost of $35 per workshop:

  • Spring Renewal Restorative Workshop on Friday, April 4 from 7 – 9 pm with instructor Bettie Shea
  • Yin/Yang Workshop on Saturday, April 12 from 4 – 6 pm with instructors Ashley Masters and Kacy Pleasants

And finally, Mint Hill Yoga recently announced that it is planning to host two incredible yoga retreats, one near and one far:

  • Yoga in the Mountains is scheduled for October 17-19, 2014
  • Yoga in France is scheduled for June 13-20, 2015  (early bird discount available through May 30, 2014)

September Awaits You at The Lofts at 7714

The month of September at The Lofts at 7714 is filled with events and activities for the residents of Mint Hill, Matthews and Charlotte.  This retrofitted mill property is located at 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in the heart of downtown Mint Hill.

September 4th:  Mint Hill Yoga begins Senior Yoga classes at 9:30 am.  Visit to register or find out more.

September 7th:  Spotlight Performing Arts and Mint Hill Yoga are both celebrating their one year anniversaries in The Lofts at 7714 with Open Houses.  Spotlight will feature a live band and student performances and offer food, drinks, door prizes and giveaways from 3 to 7 pm.  Mint Hill Yoga will offer free half hour yoga classes and chai tea from 3 to 5 pm.

September 13th:  Pottery 51 hosts its monthly open house with wine, snacks and beautiful pottery.

September 16th:  Spotlight Performing Arts Academy’s fall classes begin and run through November 18th.  Class offerings include Kids’ Choir, Theatre 101, Spotlight’s Show Choir, Chorus and a Production Class.

Mint Hill Yoga Spring Series Classes Now Registering

Mint Hill Yoga, located in Suite H of the Lofts at 7714, is now registering for its spring Series Classes.  Each of the following Series is made up of 5 sessions of a specific yoga class and the cost is $40 per series.

Mint Hill Yoga’s November Class Schedule

In its second month in its new studio in The Lofts at 7714, Mint Hill Yoga continues to expand its offerings.  Starting in November, Moving Meditation with Linda Nickolenko will be available on Monday nights at 6 pm.  Moving Meditation draws on the health wise teachings of Gary Kraftsow and the Viniyoga tradition that cultivates self-awareness through linking intentional breathing (pranyama) to postures (asana) to strengthen/encourage circulation within the body and calm the mind.

Other classes offered this month include:

MINT HILL, NC,  October 24, 2012 – Mint Hill Yoga, owned and operated by local Yoga instructor Bettie Shea, now has its own studio in The Lofts at 7714, located at 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill.

Mint Hill Yoga opened its door this month to students of all ages and experience levels with the mission to offer “yoga for Every Body.”  “I strive to provide a friendly, nurturing and accessible experience to practitioners of all levels,” explained Bettie. “No matter your age or body type, you can practice yoga.”

Mint Hill Yoga will offer classes in various Yoga forms:  Vinyasa; Fusion Flow, a combination of Vinyasa, alignment and deep stretch; Gentle Flow, slow gentle movement accessible to all body types, shapes and sizes; Slow Flow, Vinyasa style with longer holds and more stretching; Beginner’s Yoga; Kid’s Yoga; and Meditation.  All public yoga classes are $10 each, while all meditation classes are free.

In addition to classes, Mint Hill Yoga will offer special workshops throughout the year.  The first workshop, “Meditation with Ramesh Bjonnes,” is scheduled for Friday, November 2 at 7 pm.  This workshop will introduce participants to the various techniques of yogic and tantric meditation. The cost of the workshop is $30 and pre-registration is required.

Bettie Shea is a certified Yoga teacher, concentrating in accessible, alignment-based flow, who has taught classes in various locations in Mint Hill and Charlotte.  “With this move, I will now have a permanent home in Mint Hill in which to conduct classes for my students,” said Ms. Shea.  Kiesha Battles, who is certified with Yoga Alliance, will join Bettie as an instructor at the studio.

Mint Hill Yoga’s 250 square foot studio is located in the interior of The Lofts at 7714.  Students and workshop guests can park and enter the building via the back parking lot.

Kids – Get into Yoga!

Mint Hill Yoga, which recently opened its studio in The Lofts at 7714, will begin a Kids’ Yoga class starting on Saturday, October 20th.  Staying true to its mission – yoga for every body – Mint Hill Yoga wants to help introduce children to the healthful benefits of practicing yoga.  The class, led by instructor Kiesha Battles, will run from 2 to 3:15 pm every Saturday at a cost of $10 per class.

Ms. Battles has been practicing yoga since 2000 and is a graduate of the 200 Hour Subtle Yoga Training and Personal Transformation Program directed by Kristine Kaoverii.

Yoga is Coming to The Lofts at 7714

Bettie Shea, a certified Yoga teacher, has joined the tenant community within The Lofts at 7714 where she intends to create a peaceful and inspiring Yoga studio in her 250 square foot space.   Bettie’s Yoga instruction concentrates in accessible, alignment-based flow.  She strives to offer “Yoga for Every Body.”

Bettie had previously offered several one-day Yoga workshops in the anchor space of The Lofts at 7714 and when the 250 square foot space became available, she opted to open her own studio with ongoing classes.
