The Lofts Welcomes New Neighbor – Daphne’s Simply Southern Bakery

The Lofts at 7714 is excited to welcome Daphne’s Simply Southern Bakery to its end of Matthews-Mint Hill Road.  With the completion of the new Mint Hill Town Hall and Daphne’s relocation right next door to the Mint Hill Historical Society, business activity and foot traffic continue to grow on the east end of downtown Mint Hill.

The owners of Daphne’s have been retrofitting the building located at 7609 Matthews-Mint Hill Road for the past several months.  They will celebrate their grand opening this Friday, October 19th with a ribbon cutting at 3 pm and light refreshments and baked goods available until 9 pm.

Welcome to Daphne’s, a sweet treat of a new neighbor to The Lofts.

Open Auditions This Saturday for Charlotte’s Web at Spotlight Performing Arts Academy

Unleash your inner thespian and come audition for Spotlight Performing Arts Academy’s first theatre production –  Charlotte’s Web.  All ages and experience levels are welcome at the auditions which will be held from 10 am to 12 pm tomorrow, Saturday September 15th.  Spotlight Performing Arts Academy occupies the anchor space within The Lofts at 7714, located at 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill.

Mint Hill Yoga Hosting Meditation Workshop at The Lofts on November 2nd

On Friday, November 2nd at 7 pm, Mint Hill Yoga will welcome Ramesh Bjonnes to its studio in The Lofts at 7714 as he presents his Mindfulness, Breath and Chakra Meditation workshop. Ramesh is a co-founder of the Prama Institute in Marshall, NC. He has written extensively on tantra, yoga, culture and sustainability, and his articles have appeared in books and numerous magazines and newspapers in Europe and the US.

Meditation is remembering to be present in the moment. Yogic meditation uses the flow of the breath to facilitate more flow and harmony in life. In this class, you will learn simple meditation techniques using breath, mindfulness and concentration to facilitate the deep flow of inner transformation. Part practice and part theory, this class will introduce you to various techniques of yogic and tantric meditation, as well as the philosophy and science behind kundalini, chakras, pranayama, and mantras.

Charlotte Observer Highlights Spotlight Performing Arts Academy

Spotlight Performing Arts Academy’s grand opening last weekend featured musicians entertaining visitors as traffic passed by on busy Matthews-Mint Hill Road in downtown Mint Hill, a first for The Lofts at 7714.  The newly remodeled space within The Lofts at 7714 now features a baby-grand piano and stage in the central gallery, several music studios where students will learn and hone their talent, and a signature wall – the place of honor where all those who perform on the Academy’s stage can sign their name.

The Charlotte Observer highlighted the event in today’s South Charlotte News section in “Spotlight Academy Opens in Mint Hill,” by Marty Minchin.  Congratulations to Angela Gordon, owner and founder of Spotlight Performing Arts Academy!

Mint Hill Martial Arts Offers Boot Camp

The Lofts at 7714 tenant, Mint Hill Martial Arts, is now offering a fitness Boot Camp.  This is in addition to their traditional and classical martial arts classes in Daitoryu Aikijujutsu, Lai Tung Pai Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan.

Spotlight Performing Arts Academy to Open in The Lofts at 7714

Spotlight Performing Arts Academy will soon open for business in The Lofts at 7714 offering private and group music instruction, voice and theatre arts classes.  The Academy will primarily serve students ages 6 to 17 but all are welcome.

Angela Gordon Epting, the owner and founder of Spotlight Performing Arts Academy, has over ten years of experience in her field.  She has a Masters Certificate in Music Business and Songwriting from Berklee School of Music.  She will lead a team of highly qualified teachers in providing lessons in every musical category, in addition to staging theatre productions and fielding competition choral groups.

The Academy will anchor The Lofts at 7714 in its 3,600 square foot, center, street-front space.

Enjoy a Free Concert in the Park

This Friday, July 27th at 10 am, there will be a free concert at the North Carolina Korean War Memorial, located in Fairview Park on highway 218 in Mint Hill.  The event, at this newly created memorial, is open to the public.
