Mint Hill Martial Arts Relocation to The Lofts at 7714 is Complete

Mint Hill Martial Arts began its relocation to a 2,700 square foot space within The Lofts at 7714 just after the new year began.  Instructors and students alike worked for several months to upgrade their space from its previous industrial use in this former mill building to its current state.  The large open space is now divided into three sections, each of which is dedicated to a particular martial arts form complete with the appropriate flooring and instruments.  The final job in this relocation was completed recently as owner Chris Facente oversaw the school’s sign being hung over their new front door.

Mint Hill Martial Arts offers classes in Lai Tung Pai Kung Fu, Daitoryu Aikijujutsi, and Tai Chi Chuan six days a week at convenient evening and weekend times for working adults and parents of students.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mint Hill Martial Arts to The Lofts at 7714,” indicated Mary Crotty, a managing partner for JMMT Partnership, the owner of the building.  “This building has been in my family for 50 years and we’ve seen it go through many changes in that time.  To see it repurposed yet again is very exciting.  The folks at Mint Hill Martial Arts seem to love this vintage building as much as my family does and they immediately became its newest stewards.  We look forward to having them as tenants for a long time to come.”

A Big Thanks to Lofts’ Tenant Mint Hill Martial Arts

The kind folks at Mint Hill Martial Arts, in particular Chris Facente and Glenwood Barnes, are helping The Lofts at 7714 complete a cosmetic remodel of the building’s restrooms.  Over the weekend, they worked very hard to have the floors painted, some of the walls painted, curtains hung and more, in time for the Yoga Workshop held at The Lofts on Sunday afternoon.

The restrooms are original to this 1945 mill building, including the architecturally appealing wood doors for both the ladies and men’s rooms.   Giving them a cosmetic facelift is just one of our goals in transforming this vintage mill building into a distinctive work space for local entrepreneurs, merchants and creative souls.

A big thanks to Chris, Glenwood and the Mint Hill Martial Arts students for their help in bringing our vision for The Lofts at 7714 to life.
