Spotlight Performing Arts Academy, Mint Hill’s premier performance-based music and theatre academy, has renewed its lease for The Lofts at 7714’s anchor space for the seventh straight year.
About Spotlight Performing Arts Academy
Spotlight first moved into this former mill property located at 7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in August 2012. Since then, owner Angela Gordon Mills has steadily built a loyal customer base of students of all ages enjoying individual lessons, group classes, theatre productions and summer camps.
“Spotlight Performing Arts Academy has been a terrific tenant. After the Great Recession, they were one of the first tenants to move in when we began retrofitting this building, which has been in our family since 1962,” said Mary Crotty of JMMT Partnership, the building’s owner. “Angela, her teachers and students, all helped breath new life into what was once an industrial property, giving this historically important building in Mint Hill renewed purpose.”
Upcoming Theatre Auditions
The performing art school’s next planned production is Rodger and Hammerstein’s Carousel, with auditions this weekend for actors ages 8 through adult:
- Saturday 8/24 at 9 a.m.
- Sunday 8/25 at 6 p.m.
The cast will present the production to the public December 6-8 and 13-15.
Fall Classes at Spotlight Performing Arts Academy
Spotlight is also now accepting registrations for fall classes in piano, voice, guitar, bass, percussion, banjo, mandolin, brass, woodwinds and string instruments.
