That’s right. Don’t waste your gas and your time driving to Charlotte for yoga classes when there is a terrific yoga studio right in the heart of downtown Mint Hill – Mint Hill Yoga.
Mint Hill Yoga’s studio is located in the interior of The Lofts at 7714 (7714 Matthews-Mint Hill Road). Whether you are a long-time yoga practitioner or a yoga neophyte, owner and instructor Bettie Shea has something for you. In fact that is her motto – Yoga for Every Body. No matter your age, body type or physical condition, Mint Hill Yoga has a class, group or private, to suit you.
This month their class offerings include a Senior Yoga Series, a Slow Flow Series, and classes in Mindful Vinyasa, Slow Flow and Deep Stretch. The studio also regularly holds Friday night workshops and is planning a Yoga Book Club for the New Year.

Pottery 51’s Second Friday reception and studio tour is this Friday, November 8th from 6:30 to 9 pm at the studio located in The Lofts at 7714. This month’s featured artists are long-time Pottery 51 leader David Bridge and Althea Mead-hajduk.
Pottery 51’s studio houses 26 local potters who spin and bake their clay works on site. The end results are displayed in the front gallery as well as in each potter’s individual space, which makes Friday night’s reception the perfect time to start your holiday shopping. Forget the “same old, same old” gifts this year. Give a truly unique gift – a piece made by a local artist in Mint Hill.

It’s not too early to think about your New Year’s Resolution. Make a different kind of resolution this year – one that truly enriches your mind, body and spirit. Starting in January, Mint Hill Yoga will offer a Yoga Book Club, which will meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm starting on January 8th.
Consider making this your resolution. For only $5 per week, pre-registered participants will enjoy tea and cookies while they discuss reading and what it means for them on and off the mat. Pre-registration will be available on www.minthillyoga.com in mid November.
The first book up for discussion is The Bhagavad Gita translated by Stephen Mitchell. Bettie Shea, the owner of Mint Hill Yoga, describes it as the story of Arjuna, a young warrior on the battlefield, and his encounter with Krishna, who is God incarnate. The entire story is a conversation between the two about life and death, the after life and spirituality. It is a story you will truly never forget.
