Angela Gordon Mills of Spotlight Performing Arts Academy: As a long-time performer and teacher, Angela opened Spotlight Performing Arts Academy in August 2012 in order to fulfill her dream of owning and managing her own performing arts school. Spotlight is the most convenient and rewarding place for Mint Hill children, teens and adults to begin, expand or perfect their voice, musical instrument or theatre skills.
Bettie Shea of Mint Hill Yoga: Since opening her own yoga studio in The Lofts at 7714 a little over a year ago, Bettie’s business has grown tremendously. She and two other instructors offer multiple classes per week in a variety of yoga styles, including senior yoga, Vinyasa, gentle Hatha, Fusion, Slow Flow and Deep Stretch. They also offer Friday night workshops.
Lynn Leary of Employment Practices Counsel: Lynn and her staff offer a wide array of human resource and employment services including consulting on employee relations; issue response and internal investigations; a subscription-based HR service; policy and procedure development; background screening; and training and development.

Calling all aspiring thespians and performers, Spotlight Performing Arts Academy is holding auditions this week for its holiday variety show, “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” This family friendly show has parts available for performers of all ages, so come audition on Saturday, October 26th between 9 and 10 am. If you can’t make that time, call Spotlight at 704-545-7373 to make an appointment for an audition.
Rehearsals for the show will take place from 4:30 to 6 pm on Mondays and Sundays at Spotlight Performing Arts Academy.
“Walking in a Winter Wonderland” will put everyone in Mint Hill in the holiday spirit on Friday, December 20th at 7 pm on the main stage of the academy.

October marks the two year anniversary of Asylum Digital Recording Studio’s move into The Lofts at 7714. JMMT Partnership, the owners of The Lofts at 7714, welcomed Asylum Digital in October of 2011. Owner Scott Slagle spent the first several months of his tenancy transforming his space from a former cabinet shop into his artistically designed and decorated three room space, which includes an 850 square foot live room and a 300 square foot control room. In addition to recording and mixing, Asylum Digital also offers graphic and web design services and photography.
