Fall Group Classes Start Next Week: Fall classes for students of all ages begin the week of September 16th. For preschool age children, there is “Music for Little Mozarts,” “My Time to Shine,” as well as piano lessons. For older children and teens, Spotlight is offering its “Kids Choir,” “Theatre 101,” “Spotlight’s Show Choir,” “Chorus,” and a production class that will stage “Sleepy Hollow – A Musical Tale” in November. Classes for adults and seniors are also available.

The Lofts at 7714 tenant Mint Hill Yoga is celebrating its one-year anniversary by offering free 30 minute yoga classes this Saturday, September 7th. From 3 to 5 pm, the studio will be open to the public to enjoy a complimentary sampling of yoga and some chai tea. Mint Hill Yoga instructors Bettie Shea and Keisha Battles will conduct the classes on a first come first serve basis. They specialize in “yoga for every body.” So if yoga is something you’ve wanted to try but were too shy, this is a great opportunity to see if it is for you.

Calling all middle school and high school-age aspiring actors in Mint Hill and surrounding areas, Spotlight Performing Arts Academy is holding auditions this week for its fall production – Sleepy Hollow, A Musical Tale. Audition times are Thursday, September 5th at 7 pm and Saturday, September 7th at 11 am.
This production is staged as part of Spotlight Performing Arts Academy’s “Production Class,” which offers students a chance to participate in the production of a musical. Students may audition for a role in the musical or to work behind the scenes as stage crew members. There are primary, secondary and chorus roles available. Rehearsals will be held every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm. Shows will be November 8th and 9th.
