Pottery Classes Available in Mint Hill

Pottery 51, located in The Lofts at 7714, will begin offering pottery classes this month.  Experienced potter Althea Hadjuk will teach “Throwing on the Potter’s Wheel.”  This class is designed for beginners and students interested in refining their wheel throwing skills.  It will cover the essential components of creating a wheel-thrown piece of pottery.  Students will learn to make basic forms including cylinders, bowls and mugs and will also be introduced to trimming and glazing techniques.

Classes begin on Wednesday, January 23rd and end on Wednesday, March 6th.  They are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am to 12:30 pm.  Tuition is $225 which includes a 25 lb bag of clay, use of all studio equipment and firing fees.  Classes are limited to 4 participants only, allowing for individual attention and encouraging students to develop at their own pace.  Instructor demonstrations will be a feature of every class.

To sign up for one of these pottery classes, contact instructor Althea Hadjuk at 704-752-7584.
